A vineyard famous for its red wines.

Krokoszówka Górska Vineyard, established in 2005 by Mr and Mrs Górski in Smardzowice near Ojców. Currently its area covers 1 ha.
The site is located very picturesquely – on the edge of the rocky Prądnik Valley, on the border of the Ojców National Park, with a distant view of the Jurassic plateau. The favourable effect of temperature inversion (cold air flowing into the valley) means that despite the rather considerable height – around 400 metres above sea level – the vines have quite good growing conditions here. The vineyard and nursery itself are located on three plots of land, on gentle slopes with southern and western exposure. Quite heavy, clay-stone soils on a bed of limestone (so-called rendzinas) dominate here.
The varieties found here – Leon Millot and Marechal Foch– are used to produce red wine, thanks to which the Górski family have won many medals at Polish and international wine competitions. For white wines, hardy hybrids such as Aurora, Seyval Blanc, Kristaly and Swenson red are also grown here, as well as Swojska Jutrzenka, from which a single blend is made. Regent and Solaris vines have also been planted in the newest part of the vineyard.
In addition to viticulture, there is a small vine nursery on the plantation. In the future, the hosts plan to start commercial production, but today the wine can already be tasted on the spot at the vineyard.
