Seweryn Goszczyński High School
Seweryn Goszczyński High School, school founded in 1904, famous for its high level of education. In 1945, Tischner was admitted to the lower secondary school in Nowy Targ. He had an opportunity to make up for the time gap in his education by means of studying the shortened curriculum. Thus, from April to July, he studied the second grade material and after the summer break he began his third grade education. After passing the exam called “mała matura” in 1947 for two years he was a high school student, in humanities class. He showed great interest in writing poems, short stories, in which his sense of humour was visible.
