The main building of the mini-open-air museum, branch of the District Museum (Muzeum Okręgowe) in Tarnów, is the house of Felicja Curyło (1903-1974), a folk artist who promoted the traditional art of painting houses and household items in the original floral pattern characteristic of Powiśle Dąbrowskie.

The house, object of folk art enthusiasts’ interest from the very beginning, has survived in its form unchanged from the times of the artist’s life. Inside, we can admire flower patterns painted on walls and ceilings, decorations made of coloured tissue paper, as well as a traditional folk costumery. A kitchen with a lavishly painted stove stands out among the rooms. In the open-air museum, we will also find another richly decorated and fully-equipped house, once owned by Stefania Łączyńska. The third cottage belonged to less wealthy people, which is why paintings can be seen only on the outer walls of the house. The former farm buildings have also been transformed for museum purposes. A workshop room and a box office have been established in the former cowshed; old agricultural equipment is displayed in the barn.
