The “Pyszna” Villa was built in 1905 by the famous Zakopane carpenter, Jan Ustupski, “Kubecka”. The name “Pyszna” was adopted from one of the Tatra valleys. The building is a typical example of the simplified Zakopane style in villa architecture, in its folk version, developing at the beginning of the 20th century, under the influence of Stanisław Witkiewicz.

In 1991, the “Pyszna” Villa was entered in the Register of Monuments under the number. Its historic value is mainly related to its artistic value, such as the architectural form, characteristic construction and decorative elements; beautifully carved balustrades and girding.  The most unique parts include the richly carved girding in the living room, in the central part of which there is an eagle with a crown. Since 1998, the private owner of the villa in the years 1998-2004 carried out a comprehensive, general renovation, as a result of which the “Pyszna” Villa was given its former glory. Today, it is one of the best-kept villas, unfortunately, a few historic wooden architecture buildings in Zakopane. On the ground floor of the villa there is an exclusive apartment in which they hosted, among others, great musicians like: world-famous violinist prof. Roman Totenberg, lecturer at the annual Zakopane Academy of Arts, the only living musician who has performed with Karol Szymanowski, the outstanding jazz trumpeter Tomasz Stańko, and Wojciech Waglewski. The “Pyszna” Villa, despite its old age (100 years!), is going through a prime time again and continues to shine, as it did in the first years of the 20th century, right after its construction.
