The Church in Lachowice was founded in the centre of the village, in place of the cemetery chapel built in 1707, in the years 1789-1792. Today it is one of the most beautiful churches on the Wooden Architecture Route in Małopolska.
The temple is encircled with arcatures that add charm to it and is surrounded with old trees. Inside the church, our attention focuses on the main altar, built probably in the 1st half of the 19th century, which contains two retractable paintings: the painting of the Most Sacred Heart of Christ and the painting of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception (from the 17th century), as well as an image of St. Peter and St. Paul (patrons of the church). The walls are decorated with sculptural polychrome (figures of apostles). The vault is painted blue and decorated with golden stars. In the presbytery, it is enriched with an image of Our Immaculate Lady, and on the vault of the nave we can see scenes of the Transfiguration and the Annunciation. Between the presbytery and the nave, there is a double rainbow beam with images of Christ on the Cross, Mother of God and St. John the Evangelist.
