ARTHROPODA Butterfly Museum Bochnia
The collections contain specimen that have been caught over the last 130 years. The author of the collection is Jacek Kobiela – a visual artist, an art conservator and a lover of nature. He has gathered an imposing collection of over 5,000 specimen.
The exhibition contains an overview of diurnal and nocturnal butterflies. These butterflies represent a majority of families and species occurring in all continents (excluding Antarctica). They can be encountered in all climatic and zoographic zones. Butterflies are also divided according to their occurrence in various continents. The constantly expanding exhibitions contains not only butterflies, but also other arthropods: beetles, cicadas, European mantises, scorpions, bugs and spiders.
