Wierzchowska Górna Cave

Wejście do jaskini.
Spacerowa, 32-089 Wierzchowie Tourist region: Jura Krakowsko- Częstochowska
The cave is located in the picturesque part of the Kraków-Czestochowa Upland, on the eastern slope of the upper Kluczwody Valley.

It is one of the largest caves of the Krakow-Częstochowa Upland – the second-largest and most extensive cave system accessible to tourists, with a total length of 975 metres, of which 700 metres is accessible and can be traversed within 45 minutes. The first mentions of the caves date back to 1853. In 1997, as a result of the largest rockfall in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland in the 20th century, the largest of its openings was blocked. It was declared a natural monument that is to be left undisturbed.

The Wierzchowska Cave is the longest tourist trail in a cave in Poland. It leads through the winding Long Pass, through the Cauldron Hall and the Little Hotel, to the largest cave chamber – the Ballroom, which lets you pass to the Hall of the Primitive Man. The walls and ceiling of the chambers are covered with speleothems. The Wierzchowska Cave can be visited with a qualified guide along a well-marked, safe and professionally illuminated trail.
